ABOUT HOLZMAN
Born April 22 1960 David Holzman grew up in Los Angles California and never had any formal art classes or training.
1977: Holzman was first published photograph was a “Peter Gabriel” concert shot at the Roxy in Hollywood.
1977-1978: Holzman shoots over 100 concerts by sneaking his camera into shows.
1980-1983: Attended LA Valley college, where he got his degree in photojournalism.
1984: Went directly from collage to the L.A. Times as a staff photographer.
1986: Opened photo studio in Hollywood at Hollywood & Highland Blvd. Holzman then went on to be a well known rock, lifestyle, action, and fashion show photographer. Published in Mix Magazine, Cream, Fine Magazine, LA Magazine, LA Weekly, Action Now, Motocross Action, Surfer and Surfing magazine.
1987: Holzman then moved into fine art limited edition photograph prints of his work and showed at the Art Expo conventions across the country.
1988: Holzman then signed with Museum Edition West and Graphique De France for his publishing. Posters with his name on them sold in over 300 galleries worldwide.
1989: Holzman's limited edition photographs hang next to Ansel Adams and Edward Weston at “The Photographic Gallery” Laguna Beach California group show.
1990: Holzman starts to doing abstract paintings in NYC and does an major office in the World Trade Center.
1993: Holzman work “the American Dream” hung in President Bill Clinton’s private office in the White House.
1995: Holzman “The Artist with heart” raises hundreds of thousand of dollars by donating his artworks to AIDS charities for auction.
1996: Holzman does his first documentary film “The Surf Movie”.
1996-2001- Holzman opens H&G art galleries showing his photographic work in Orange County.
2001- Holzman does his 2nd documentary film “The Diary of David Holzman 2001”.
2002-2010- Holzman 3rd documentary “John Vincent Mingo” Documentary film project.
2010: Holzman does painting for USA Water Polo Team to auction to help get the USA team to games.
2011: One man show Beverly Hills Icon Gallery
2013: One man show Downtown LA Gallery
2014: Holzman One man show LA College of the arts.
2015: One man show Mark Timothy Gallery Laguna
2017-2018: One man show in NYC at Llyods International Gallery
Holzman works sold to private collections in the United States,
Canada and Europe.
2018-2020 Covid Lockdown
2020: Holzman signs with major publisher to put his photographic images in 10,000 stores framed on canvas.
Holzman starts “SaveTheUSA.ME” to help save the USA.
2020-2021 Holzman paints brand new collection of 14 paintings to start HolzmanArt.com.com.
2022-2025: Holzman Museum Collection will go on display at top art galleries and then sold to major museums for their permanent collections.
